Sourjyendu Medda is a seasoned business professional with over two decades of experience in building consumer brands. He has a proven track record in all aspects of business management including Marketing, CRM, Pricing and Operations. As one of the founding members of DealShare, a social e-commerce start-up, he has played a pivotal role in bringing alive the incredibly disruptive e-commerce opportunity to the heartland of India aimed at the mass market by leveraging the WhatsApp-first social virality concept.
An alumnus of the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai and National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, he is a self-motivated and result-oriented leader. He has been instrumental in streamlining operations, maximising market penetration, and increasing profits for the organisation over and above building an encouraging corporate culture. His deep understanding of the real India opportunities, diverse mass market customers, regional nuances and fast pacing commerce business has played a significant role in DealShare’s journey to become the fastest growing Unicorn in the social commerce space. His determination, knowledge and commitment have not only given wings to Indian MSMEs, but it has also created livelihood and quality of life in the smallest of towns.
Before DealShare, Sourjyendu has worked as the Head of Sales at Metro Cash and Carry India where he spearheaded Relationship Management, Reseller Business and Pricing Function. He has also worked closely with Raymonds to lead the brand’s sales function. In his 22 years of the professional stint, he has also worked with Citibank and Britannia Industries Limited.
A passionate entrepreneur, he envisions contributing toward self-reliant India by enabling its local communities, its indigenous brands and its people.
